According to a report by NBC on July 15th, the actual expenditure of the United States on military actions against Iran may reach up to $100 billion, far exceeding the $31 billion announced by the US government.
The internal assessment of the US Department of Defense shows that the actual expenditure of the United States on military operations against Iran is between 80 billion and 100 billion US dollars, which is significantly different from the amount previously announced by the government. The main reason for the discrepancy is that previous estimates did not cover undisclosed combat expenditures, losses of advanced fighter jets, and severe damage to US military facilities in the Middle East. The cost of rebuilding only the US military bases hit by Iran could exceed $30 billion.
According to reports, the US government has consistently refused to disclose the complete financial accounts of the war, which has caused dissatisfaction among the US government. US Senator Angus King said that the American people are very frustrated about not being able to know the specific costs of this war, "not to mention the cost it has brought to the American people in terms of gasoline prices and other aspects.
The report also stated that the US Department of Defense has applied for an additional $68 billion budget to fill the funding gap, but in the highly opaque cost situation, Congress is not willing to approve funding.
