Iranian President denies rumors of resignation
Tehran, August 4th (Xinhua) -- According to the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency on August 4th, Iranian President Pezehezhian denied rumors of resignation and said, "I will continue to serve.
If I have to resign, I will officially announce it. I will not resign, I will continue to serve, "said Pezehiziyan in an interview program. He said that some people claim that the Iranian government and the Supreme Leader have different positions, and their purpose is to create differences. The government and military forces are fully coordinated, and we will not hand over positions to incompetent people.
On the 4th, Mehdi Tabatabai, the Deputy Director of News and Communication Affairs at the Iranian Presidential Office, also refuted reports on the resignation of Pezehiziyan on social media, calling these claims "completely false" and accusing those who spread rumors of attempting to undermine national and ethnic unity.
Tabatabai said that those who spread rumors have become puppets of Iran's enemies, which is despicable.
Earlier, there were rumors that there were disagreements between Pezehiziyan and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, suggesting that Pezehiziyan may resign. The Iranian presidential office has repeatedly denied the rumors.
