Beijing, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The International Energy Agency, International Monetary Fund, World Bank Group, and World Trade Organization recently issued a joint statement saying that the uncertainty brought by the Middle East conflict to the global economy is still high, and its impact may continue to exist, especially in the energy market and cargo transportation, which are still under pressure.

According to the statement, the heads of four international organizations held a meeting on the 7th to discuss the current global energy, trade, and economic development situation. The attending officials said that the global economy has shown resilience to the impact of the Middle East conflict, but the impact of the conflict is extremely uneven, affecting energy supply, food security, commodity prices, and the normal operation of economic activities in many countries and regions, exacerbating people's concerns about economic growth and price stability.

The statement calls on all parties to make further progress in resolving the conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Governments of all countries and the international community should continue to work together to maintain safe navigation in important channels, support economic recovery, safeguard people's livelihoods and employment, strengthen energy and food security, and enhance the ability to cope with future shocks.

The statement stated that relevant international organizations will closely cooperate with their members, closely monitor energy, trade, and economic development, and provide corresponding support when necessary.
